Day 4: Treasure

No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money –Matthew 6:24

Read the whole passage in Matthew 6:19-34

God is not fooled. He knows our loyalty. He sees our hearts. If worries about career or cars, about retirement or stock markets, if any concern comes before his own, then God is not our master. We can serve only one. That master can be culture, comfort, money, or marriage. But if we claim to follow God, if we claim his name or call ourselves believers, then God must be our chief concern, his will our chief thought. Serving God comes with untold rewards and everlasting promises, but he demands everything in return. He will allow no other god and no other priority to take his place in our hearts.

Talk with God

I give up the gods of comfort and career to you. Nothing and no one will take your place in my life.

Live it. How will you live more Second today?

Tell it.  How will you share what you have learned?
