Day 3: Forever

Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever. –2 Samuel 7:16

Read the whole passage in 2 Samuel 7:1-29

From shepherd boy to mighty king, from lowly child to hero of his nation, God made the name David synonymous with fame and greatness. Despite all his failures, God made David a promise that he and his descendants would be established forever. Though history journeyed on, his kingdom fell, and his throne all but ceased to exist, God’s promise would stand. One day a man would come, a Savior and Prophet, a Hero and King. A morning would dawn when David’s line would once again sit on the throne and that throne, would forever endure. They would call that man the Christ or Messiah; we might have called him Hero. God never forgets his people and never fails in his promises. He will follow through on what he commits. No matter how tough life gets or how dreary the day becomes, we can find courage in the fact that God will come through in the end.

Talk with God
You never forget, You never abandon. Despite our failures and through all our mistakes, you still remember your special creation. And for that, I praise and thank you.
